The birth of a new company...
American
Marine began designing and
building Hard-tops and T-tops for their boating customers
in 2002. Shortly thereafter, Ted Sanders, formerly of
ECS Welding, joined
the company as the senior fabricator. The addition of
Ted allowed the company to expand beyond marine fabrication
and into residential and commercial railings and awnings...
American Fabricators was born.
The combination of Paul Wachter's reputation for customer
satisfaction, completing the job in a timely manner
and quality workmanship have created a high demand.
The product line has grown to include fences, security
gates, cable rail systems, and spiral staircases using
stainless steel, aluminum and wrought iron. Marty Mathis
and Donnie Ashmore joined Ted as a master fabricator
and quickly became a part of the primary team. You will
also see some familiar faces from American Marine adding
their expertise from time to time, most notably Shane
Farrar and Jeremy Lewis.

In 2005 things got really exciting. Paul purchased a bigger building to expand production and installed one of the largest powder coating ovens in the area. The ability to powder coat everything from a length of pool railing to the frame of a truck, pallets of industrial parts or motorcycle components in a rainbow of colors is unmatched in coastal North Carolina.
